Pune, 3rd November 2025: To manage heavy passenger traffic and improve service efficiency, the railway administration has launched a dedicated “War Room” inside the control centre at Pune Railway Station. The War Room is equipped with trained staff and senior officials who monitor real-time passenger movement and complaints. Once a complaint is received, whether through Rail Madad, social media, or the station’s complaint book, it is assigned to the concerned department immediately. Most issues are resolved within 20 minutes, helping avoid long delays and inconvenience.

Common complaints include dirty coaches, faulty air conditioners, lack of water in restrooms, broken mobile charging points, train delays, and passenger misconduct. The War Room’s round-the-clock staff of ten ensures that all such issues are attended to promptly, even during night hours or festival rush.

Pune is among 17 high-traffic railway stations chosen by the Ministry of Railways for this special initiative. The system helps authorities manage crowds efficiently, especially during holidays and festive seasons when passenger numbers surge.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager Padmasingh Jadhav said the new setup has made it easier to regulate crowds and resolve passenger issues quickly. He added that the War Room allows better coordination and quicker decisions, reducing risks and improving overall travel experience for Pune passengers.
