Pune, 29th September 2026: Kalepadal police have arrested six people suspected of being part of an inter-district drug trafficking gang involved in the sale and supply of ganja in Pune.
The arrests were made near the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) ground. Police seized 1.044 kg of ganja and a car, with the total value of the confiscated items estimated at approximately ₹8.5 lakh.
According to the police, personnel received information that Yogesh Prahlad Adsul (40), a resident of Kalepadal, was waiting under a tree near the SRPF ground to sell ganja.
Acting on the information, a police team raided the spot and detained him. The police recovered 1.044 kg of ganja from his possession and registered a case against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During questioning, police obtained information about five other suspected members of the trafficking network and arrested them. They have been identified as Vijay Raju Hubblikar (29), Baban Baburao Dandge (39), Ashok alias Akshay Satish Jadhav (28), Vikas Sandeep Bodade (20), and Sahil Subhash Thombe (27).
The first four accused are residents of Bhimale Heights in Kothrud, while Thombe lives in Guruwar Peth. According to police, the accused have previous serious criminal cases registered against them at Kothrud, Yavat, Wanowrie, Ahilyanagar and Bhingar police stations.
The operation was carried out by a team led by Assistant Police Inspectors Ratnadeep Gaikwad and Amit Shete, along with Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajas Sheikh and police personnel Pravin Kalbhor, Amol Fadtare, Daud Sayyad and Pratik Lahigude.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar and Crime Police Inspector Annasaheb Babar.
