Pune: Three Teenagers Killed After Trains Run Over Them Near Majari Budruk

Police probe why the youngsters were on the railway track; no CCTV or eyewitnesses found at the spot

Pune, 17 November 2025: Three teenagers were killed on Sunday night after they were rammed by a train on the railway track near Gopalpatti in the Manjari Budruk area of Pune. The deceased have been identified as Prathamesh Nitin Tinde (18) of Kalepadal, and Tanmay Mahendra Tupe (18) and Tushar Shinde (19), both residents of Gopalpatti.

According to police, the Pune–Daund DEMU local, which left Pune station around 8.15 pm, ran over the youths at about 8.30 pm. There was no CCTV camera at the location, and officers are searching for anyone who may have seen what happened.

Teams from Hadapsar Police Station and the Government Railway Police reached the spot soon after receiving the alert. They said it was dark at the time of the accident, and no eyewitnesses have come forward yet, making the circumstances unclear.

Senior Inspector Sanjay Mogale of Hadapsar Police Station said the investigation will focus on understanding why the teenagers were on the tracks. He added that their bodies were sent for postmortem and their families have been informed.

Police said an accidental death report will be filed after the medical examination, and further inquiry will be conducted to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the tragedy.
