PUNE, 7th October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a major water cut across the city on Thursday, October 9, due to essential electrical and civil maintenance work at the Parvati Water Treatment Plant. As a result, water supply will be disrupted in several key areas of the city, with normal supply expected to resume late on Friday, October 10, though at reduced pressure.
The civic body has appealed to citizens to cooperate and store adequate water in advance, noting that the shutdown is necessary to ensure smooth operations and future reliability of the supply network.
According to PMC officials, the maintenance activity will affect most central and eastern parts of Pune. Areas receiving water from Parvati, Lashkar, Chatushrungi, Pashan, Holkar, and Warje water reservoirs will remain without supply during the work.
The disruption will impact large sections of the city including Parvati, Sahakarnagar, Bibvewadi, Padmavati, Mukundnagar, Mahesh Society, Gangadham, Kondhwa, Lake Town, Indiranagar, Dattawadi, Deccan, Shivajinagar, and Swargate. Eastern suburbs such as Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Manjari, Kharadi, Chandan Nagar, Sasanenagar, and Fursungi will also experience a complete shutdown.
In western Pune, areas like Aundh, Bopodi, Khadki, Pune University campus, Baner, Pashan, and parts of Warje will be affected as well. The industrial zones of Ramtekdi and Mundhwa, along with Camp, Koregaon Park, and Racecourse areas, will also see supply interruptions.
PMC stated that water supply will begin to normalize only by Friday evening but will initially flow with low pressure. Citizens are requested to use water carefully during this period and cooperate with civic authorities.
