The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Pune city and an Orange Alert for the ghat regions, warning of heavy rainfall in hilly areas. The forecast also predicts thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rain across the city through the weekend.

Continuous rainfall has brought down temperatures across Pune. On Wednesday, the city's maximum temperature was recorded at 29°C, while the minimum settled at 21.6°C, both around two degrees lower than the previous day. The weather department expects temperatures to dip slightly further over the next few days as rain activity continues.

For today, Pune is likely to witness partly cloudy skies with light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during the afternoon and evening. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 30°C, while the minimum may be 23°C.

From Friday onwards, rainfall is expected to become more consistent, with the maximum temperature likely to drop to 28°C and the minimum remaining close to 23°C.

The IMD has advised residents, especially those travelling through the Western Ghats, to remain alert as heavy rainfall is likely to continue in the ghat sections over the next three days.
