India's ChatGPT Obsession: From Homework to...?

Future of ChatGPT in India: ChatGPT is the most used AI platform in India. According to the survey, 31% of Indian users are willing to switch to DeepSeek.

ChatGPT AI use in India: Artificial intelligence (AI)-based platforms are being widely used among internet users in India, with ChatGPT being the most used platform, a survey has revealed. However, new AI platform DeepSeek is also catching the attention of users, with 1 in 3 Indian AI users considering switching to this new platform.

Competition begins between Google and ChatGPT

According to a study by online survey firm LocalCircles, 50% of Indian internet users are using AI platforms, while 40% still prefer Google and other search engines to find information. However, people are increasingly turning to AI platforms as AI provides faster and more accurate answers.

ChatGPT is the most popular, but DeepSeek is growing in demand. 15,377 people participated in this survey, out of which-

  • 28% people use ChatGPT,

  • 9% of people trust Perplexity,

  • 6% people use Co-Pilot (Bing),

  • 3% people use "Gemini via Google" and Llama,

  • 6% of people use any other AI platform.

  • This means, ChatGPT is the most used AI platform in India.

People's growing inclination towards DeepSeek

  • DeepSeek, an AI platform developed in China, has attracted many users as it offers advanced features for free.

  • 8% of people have already switched to DeepSeek.

  • 15% of people will use DeepSeek even if other platforms don't offer free features.

  • 8% of people are going to use DeepSeek in any case.

  • However, 38% of people have decided to use other AI platforms.

Will competition between AI platforms intensify in the future?

According to a report by LocalCircles, 1 in 3 AI users in India are considering using DeepSeek. This means that competition in the AI ​​space will increase, and Google, ChatGPT, and other AI platforms will have to offer more innovative features.

As the use of AI increases day by day, it will be interesting to see which platform users in India prefer the most.
