Flipkart has cut the effective price of the iPhone 16 Plus by up to Rs 16,000 as part of its ongoing GOAT Sale 2026, bringing the device down from its Rs 89,900 India launch price to an effective Rs 73,900 for buyers willing to combine bank offers, exchange bonuses and direct price cuts.
The discount is part of a broader iPhone lineup markdown Flipkart rolled out ahead of the GOAT Sale, which began on July 4 and covers models from the current iPhone 17 series down to the older iPhone 15. Alongside the iPhone 16 Plus, the standard iPhone 16 is listed at an effective Rs 59,900, the iPhone 16e at Rs 55,900, and the iPhone 15 at Rs 49,900. The newer iPhone 17 is available at Rs 70,900, down from its Rs 82,900 launch price, while the iPhone Air has been cut to Rs 95,900 from Rs 1,19,900.
The advertised prices are effective prices, meaning they factor in bank card discounts and exchange bonuses rather than reflecting a flat sticker price cut. Flipkart Plus and Flipkart Black members get 24 hours of early access to the sale, while customers using ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda or HSBC Bank cards — or opting for credit card EMI transactions — can claim an additional instant discount of up to 10 percent on top of the listed reductions.
Despite the headline numbers, some shoppers and deal trackers have pointed out that this year's GOAT Sale prices aren't the steepest the iPhone 16 lineup has seen. The iPhone 17, for instance, was available for less during Flipkart's earlier Summer Sale. That has left some buyers hoping for sharper cuts on older models as the sale progresses.
The discounting push comes as Flipkart and Amazon continue to compete aggressively for India's price-sensitive smartphone buyers, using recurring sale events to move older iPhone inventory even as Apple's newer models dominate marketing attention. For budget-conscious buyers, the iPhone 16 series remains positioned as the practical entry point into Apple's ecosystem, offering features like Apple Intelligence and improved camera controls that the still-cheaper iPhone 15 lacks.
