Nothing has officially launched its highly anticipated Phone 3 in India, marking its entry into the ultra-premium smartphone segment. The Phone 3 is the company’s first true flagship, featuring a host of upgrades in design, performance, and user experience. With a starting price of ₹79,999 for the 256GB variant, Nothing is positioning itself to compete with the likes of Samsung and Google in India’s high-end smartphone market.
The Nothing Phone 3 continues the brand’s signature transparent design, now enhanced with a redesigned rear panel and the introduction of the Glyph Matrix. This new feature replaces the earlier LED array with a tiny dot-matrix display made up of 489 individually controlled LEDs. The Glyph Matrix can display monochrome images, notifications, caller ID, and even simple widgets such as clocks, battery indicators, and games like “Spin the Bottle” and “Rock-Paper-Scissors”. The rear panel also includes the new Essential Key and a red recording light, adding both functionality and flair.
The front sports a 6.67-inch flexible AMOLED display with ultra-slim 1.87mm bezels, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals and smooth performance even in bright outdoor conditions.
At the heart of the Phone 3 is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, built on TSMC’s 4nm process. This chipset features an 8-core CPU clocked up to 3.21GHz and the Qualcomm Adreno 825 GPU, delivering robust performance for gaming, multitasking, and AI-driven tasks. The device is available in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants, with storage options of 256GB and 512GB.
A 5500mAh silicon-carbon battery powers the device, supporting 65W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. This combination promises all-day usage and quick top-ups.
The Phone 3 runs on Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15, offering a clean interface with new features like Essential Space and Essential Search. An upgrade to Nothing OS 4.0 (Android 16) is scheduled for Q3 2025.
