Several users took to Twitter after facing troubles in using Facebook owned WhatsApp. According to the micro blogging site, the app has reportedly been down since 11:00 PM on Friday.

The error has prevented users from sending, as well as receiving messages. However, many also complained about a similar glitch on Instagram.

"Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook services. We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologise for any inconvenience," said a spokesperson from Facebook.
