Pune, 2nd August 2025: Pune is set to get direct train connectivity to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, with the Indian Railways launching the Pune–Rewa–Pune Express, the first train to directly link the two cities. Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav will flag off the inaugural run on August 3, 2025, in the presence of other dignitaries.
This new express train is expected to make travel more convenient for thousands of passengers who previously relied on indirect routes between Pune and Rewa. It will cater to both reserved and unreserved passengers, including students, professionals, tourists, and those travelling for religious purposes.
Pune, known as Maharashtra’s cultural and educational hub, also serves as a gateway to several pilgrimage centres like Alandi, Pandharpur, and Akkalkot. In Maharashtra, the train will stop at Daund, Ahmednagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Wardha, Nagpur, and Gondia. In Madhya Pradesh, major halts include Balaghat, Nainpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, and finally Rewa.
According to Indian Railways, the regular schedule of the train is as follows:
