Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the satirical social media platform Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has announced that he will return to India on June 6 to lead a peaceful protest in Delhi demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy.
In a video posted on CJP’s Instagram handle on Monday, Dipke appealed to supporters to join him at Delhi airport on Saturday morning before heading to Parliament Street police station to seek official permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar. He said the movement was aimed at raising concerns over the impact of recent exam controversies on students across the country.
“For the past few days, we have been raising our voices on social media demanding accountability,” Dipke said in the video, adding that lakhs of people had supported the campaign online and through a petition. He also pointed to demonstrations already taking place in cities including Lucknow, Jaipur and parts of Maharashtra.
Dipke acknowledged concerns from family and friends who fear he could be detained on arrival, but said he still hoped authorities would allow a peaceful demonstration. “I still have hope that our country is a democracy and we will get permission to protest peacefully,” he said.
His announcement comes just days after the Delhi High Court declined to order the immediate restoration of CJP’s X account in India. The page had been blocked following a directive reportedly issued under Section 69(A) of the IT Act.
CJP first gained attention in May through satirical posts and political commentary, later emerging as a popular online platform for young users expressing frustration over student-related issues and demanding accountability in the NEET paper leak row.
