Pimpri: In anticipation of New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has announced a robust security arrangement. A total of 1,819 police personnel will be deployed from the night of December 31 to the early hours of January 1 to ensure public safety and law enforcement.
The police have issued detailed guidelines for hotels, dhabas, and clubs hosting celebrations. Establishments have been instructed to prevent noise pollution by turning off sound systems after midnight. Additionally, those found violating the rules will face legal action.
To address the anticipated rush to tourist destinations and other venues in Mawal taluka, police will set up vehicle checkpoints across the region. Officers will inspect vehicles for unauthorized possession of alcohol, with violators facing fines and vehicle seizures. Breath analyzer tests will be conducted to detect drunk drivers, and offenders will be booked under relevant legal provisions.
Special patrols will be carried out at public locations, including places of worship, malls, and hotels. Checkpoints will monitor key areas to curb over-speeding and penalize violations such as loud horns and triple riding on two-wheelers.
