Pune: A disturbing incident took place in Pune's Hadapsar area where a traffic police constable was injured after being dragged by a biker during a routine traffic check.

The incident has resulted in a case being filed against the accused, identified as Hrithik Prakash Hingne, a 23-year-old resident of Hingne Mala, Hadapsar.

The sequence of events unfolded when Police Constable Chetan Sulakhe, from the Loni Kalbhor Traffic Department, observed the biker, Hrithik Hingne, speeding through the Hadapsar Industrial Area.

In an effort to enforce traffic regulations, Constable Sulakhe signaled the biker to stop and requested the necessary vehicle documents, including his driving license.

However, instead of complying with the request, Hingne attempted to escape the situation by speeding away. In a desperate attempt to prevent the biker from fleeing, Constable Sulakhe grabbed onto the collar of Hingne’s shirt. Unfortunately, this action led to Sulakhe being dragged along the road as the biker accelerated in an attempt to escape.

The forceful dragging caused injuries to Constable Sulakhe, who was left at the scene while the accused managed to flee. Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged by Constable Sulakhe at the Hadapsar Police Station.

The case is now under active investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Satar, who is working to apprehend the accused and bring him to justice.

This incident highlights the risks faced by traffic police officers in the line of duty, as they work to enforce traffic laws and ensure the safety of all road users. The authorities are expected to take stringent action against the accused to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
