The widely shared video depicts men, women, and children struggling to reach higher, safer ground as they cling to one another for support. The abrupt surge in water flow left many people trapped, sparking panic among those at the scene.
Fortunately, nearby residents promptly intervened to help. By coordinating their efforts, they directed tourists away from the hazardous currents and ensured everyone reached safety before the situation could escalate.
Tourist thanks rescuers, shares video as a warning
One of the tourists who posted the video on Instagram said the intention behind sharing the footage was to inform people, not to alarm them."When fun turns into a horrible situation in just two minutes. Vandri Lake," read the text on the video.
The tourist also thanked a man named Pravin and local residents who were instrumental in the rescue effort. The post noted that even those filming the incident joined in to help save the stranded individuals, and all were safely evacuated soon after. The tourist emphasized that no outing or social media reel is worth putting one’s life at risk.
