Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has revised its rate card for pass of the one route. Also, one needs to renew the pass after 22 days, earlier it was of 24 days.

The board of directors of the PMPML had decided in March 2020 to reduce the cost of ‘One Route’ passes. According to their decision, the pass will be charged for 22 days instead of 24 days. This pass will save Rs 40 to Rs 100. Bus pass rates are calculated on the basis of the distance.

According to the reduced price, the pass will cost Rs 440, Rs 660, Rs 880 and Rs 1,100. The one route passes were not issued to the commuters travelling a distance amounting a ticket worth Rs five. However, now passengers travelling a short distance can also avail one route pass which will cost around Rs 220.

The PMPML is the only public transport bus facility in the city that covers Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and adjoining rural area of Pune district. The service was stopped amid the COVID-19 lockdown, leading to big losses for the company. The income of the company had dropped from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 lakh daily. As per government new orders, the losses have to be incurred jointly by PMC and PCMC, as they are the stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the company had provided 1,487 buses to PMC and 335 buses to PCMC for COVID-19 related services, to ply patients to and from COVID Care Centres, civic hospitals and for other emergencies.
