Pune, 28 October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has declared a complete shutdown of water supply across several key localities on Thursday, October 30.

According to PMC’s Superintendent Engineer of the Lashkar Water Supply Department, Virendra Kelkar, the maintenance work aims to fix existing leaks and improve the stability of water pressure in the system. He said that the repairs are crucial to prevent future damage and ensure a more reliable supply in the coming months.

Normal water supply is expected to resume gradually on Friday, October 31, though citizens may experience reduced pressure or slight delays in certain areas.

Large parts of the city will be affected by the water cut. Localities under the Lashkar Water Works such as Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Fursungi, and Uruli Devachi will have no supply throughout the day. Tanker services to Fursungi and Uruli Devachi will also remain suspended. Similarly, under the Nagar Road Water Works, areas including Kharadi, Chandan Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri, and Viman Nagar will face interruptions.

In addition, localities covered by the Bhama Askhed scheme, such as Sainath Nagar, Tempo Chowk, and Vidya Nagar, will experience a complete water outage on Thursday.

PMC has urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown. The civic body has also requested citizens’ cooperation as it undertakes the essential repair work to improve the city’s water distribution network.
